On Monday, August 18, 2025, the Institute of Chartered Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna as part of its efforts to strengthen institutional linkages and expand professional opportunities for students and staff.
The five-man delegation was led by the National Vice President of CIBN, Dr. John Aliyu, who expressed delight at being received by the College community. He noted that the visit was aimed at encouraging the College to collaborate with the Institute so that both staff and students could benefit from the professional body’s Legacy Project and Linkage Programme, which are extended to selected institutions across the country.
According to Dr. Aliyu, students and staff of the College stand a unique chance of becoming professional bankers once they register with the Institute. As part of the benefits of the linkage, the College will also enjoy a 50% discount on registration and other professional charges, thereby making it easier for members of the College community to join the prestigious body.
He further explained that while the CIBN is a specialized professional body for bankers, its membership opportunities are equally open to students and professionals in Economics, Management, and Accountancy, thereby broadening the scope of participation.
In his response, the Provost of the College, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awwal, welcomed the delegation and commended CIBN for considering the institution as a beneficiary of its programs. He expressed excitement at the opportunities presented and promised to grant the Institute the platform to sensitize both staff and students on the benefits of the partnership.
