FEDERAL COOPERATIVE COLLEGE KADUNA REPRESENTS NIGERIA AT THE 14TH AFRICA MINISTERIAL COOPERATIVE CONFERENCE IN NAIROBI

The Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna proudly joined other distinguished delegates from across Africa at the 14th Africa Ministerial Cooperative Conference (AMCCO) held from 4th to 9th October, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya.
The College’s Provost attended the high-level continental event at the invitation of the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, reaffirming the College’s commitment to the advancement of cooperative education and professional collaboration across Africa.
Organised by the International Cooperative Alliance – Africa (ICA-Africa), the conference brought together ministers, policymakers, and cooperative leaders from various African countries to deliberate on policies and innovations that will strengthen cooperative systems and enhance sustainable development across the continent.
Highlights of the Conference

  1. Recognition of Nigeria’s Commitment to Cooperative Development:
    The Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, received an award of excellence from the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) for his unprecedented commitment to cooperative development in Nigeria. The award was presented by High Chief Oriyomi Tajudeen Ayeola on behalf of the ICA.
  2. Re-election of ICA-Africa President:
    The conference also witnessed the re-election of High Chief Tajudeen Oriyomi Ayeola as President of ICA-Africa on 7th October, 2025, reaffirming his visionary leadership in promoting cooperative growth and integration across the continent.
  3. Launch of ICA-Africa Cooperative Model Law:
    Another significant milestone was the launch of the ICA-Africa Cooperative Model Law, which marks a new era for cooperative legislation and policy harmonisation across African nations.
    Significance of the Provost’s Attendance
    The attendance of the Provost, Federal Cooperative College Kaduna, alongside the Honourable Minister, highlights the strategic role of cooperative education and training institutions in implementing the government’s agenda for cooperative reform and development.
    The Provost’s participation provided a valuable platform to engage with African policymakers, explore educational partnerships, and align the College’s academic and training programmes with emerging continental standards, particularly those reflected in the newly launched ICA-Africa Cooperative Model Law.

    Through this engagement, the Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna, reaffirms its dedication to supporting the Federal Government’s vision of revitalising the cooperative movement as a tool for grassroots empowerment, job creation, and inclusive economic growth.
