Background: Mr. J.P. Lengmang, the last child of Mr. & Mrs. Lengmang M. Dakum, was born on October 3, 1966 (recorded through oral history). He hails from Panyam, Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State. His early education began at Panyam Central Primary School (1972–1978) before proceeding to Government Secondary School (Boys’ Secondary School, GOSA), where he graduated in 1983.
He later attended a one-year craftsmanship and human relations program in the United States (1983–1984) before enrolling at the School of Preliminary Studies, Keffi (1984–1987). He gained admission into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned a B.Sc (Hons) in Economics (1987–1990). In 2000, he proceeded to the University of Jos for his M.Sc in Economics, which he completed in 2005. He also obtained a Diploma in Cooperative Studies with Distinction from the Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna (2004). In 2023, he enrolled for a PhD in Economics at the University of Jos, which he is currently pursuing.
