Courtesy Visit to Kaduna Mineral Development Company

On 22nd July 2026, the Provost of Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna, accompanied by the College Management Team, paid a courtesy visit to the Kaduna Mineral Development Company (KMDC) to explore areas of mutual collaboration.

The visit focused on establishing a strategic partnership aimed at training and empowering artisanal cooperative miners through capacity-building programmes, cooperative development, entrepreneurship training, and sustainable mining practices.

During the meeting, both institutions discussed the importance of equipping artisanal miners with the knowledge and skills required to operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with cooperative principles and relevant regulations. The collaboration is expected to strengthen cooperative societies within the mining sector, enhance productivity, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Kaduna State.

The Provost reaffirmed the College’s commitment to providing quality cooperative education, technical training, and professional development that will support the growth of the mining industry. The management of Kaduna Mineral Development Company welcomed the initiative and expressed their readiness to work closely with the College in achieving the shared objectives.

The visit concluded with a mutual commitment to develop a framework for implementing the proposed training programmes, marking the beginning of a productive partnership between Federal Cooperative College, Kaduna and Kaduna Mineral Development Company.
